Another county in Central Virginia is in the beginning stages of bringing a program similar to CATEC.
Fluvanna County plans on building a technical education center facility in conjunction with the construction of a brand new county high school.
Earlier this week we reported that there may be plans in the works to build a joint center with neighboring Louisa County.
People on both county community development staffs believe this plan could be beneficial.
"I think that Fluvanna and Louisa are talking about doing a lot of things, particularly in economic development together, and I think that is extremely positive. So things like a joint career and tech ed center make sense," said Dr. Thomas Smith, Fluvanna County School Superintendent.
