Fluvanna County’s new traffic light is about to get the green light.
The installation of the signal at the intersection of Route 600 and Slice Road is almost finished. Crews are putting the final touches on the project, including painting stop bars and turn-lane lines, this week, assuming Mother Nature cooperates.
If all goes well, the light will start blinking Thursday to warn drivers that it’s operational. The signal will start directing traffic Monday, after the morning traffic peak.
Virginia Department of Transportation officials are urging extra caution at the intersection as drivers become accustomed to the new light.
