Lowe's Grand Opening

A symbolic step towards growth was taken in the Zion Crossroads area of Louisa County this morning. An official "grand opening" was held this morning at the Lowes store, which has been open for business since Tuesday.

Lowes is the second major business to open in the area. The Best Western Hotel across the street was the first. A groundbreaking for a Wal-Mart Supercenter next to the Lowes is expected this summer.

Developers of the Shops at Spring Creek are paying to widen Route 15 in front of the new Lowes.

Too bad they're over the county line...we sure could have used their tax dollars to relieve some of the burden the average Fluvanna County resident is going to get smacked with in the very near future for the $100 million school building project.

We are happy to see it here though, my husband especially. One less reason to go into Ch'ville. ;)

I heard they offered a discount to members of the military today in recognition of Memorial Day. That was nice.
