Deputies making a welfare check at a Fluvanna County home on Thursday discovered two residents shot to death, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
A man and a woman who lived at the home at 232 Bybee Farm Lane both died of gunshot wounds, according to Lt. David Wells with the Fluvanna Sheriff’s Office.
No details about the victims were released, pending notification of relatives.
Wells said that co-workers of the man called authorities just before 1 p.m. Thursday after he failed to show up at work.
Though the investigation was continuing, investigators did not suspect anyone else was involved in the shootings, Wells said.
Both bodies have been sent to the medical examiner in Richmond for autopsies.
