The Fluvanna County Planning Commission wants to update its sign ordinance. The goal is to make the ordinance less vague and easier to enforce. Those who favor an update say the current regulations that deal with the height of signs are inadequate. The Fluvanna planners have held several sessions this year and will consider having a zoning text amendment. They plan to hold an April 28th public hearing focusing on potential changes to the sign ordinance.

Fluvanna residents have an additional chance to get the H1N1 vaccine. Fork Union Military Academy will offer free H1N1 vaccinations to any member of the Fluvanna County community over the age of 4.

The clinics begin Tuesday and will run next week on the campus of Fork Union Military Academy. No appointment is necessary and it will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. The school already has vaccinated its students and faculty and is now making 600 doses of the vaccine available to the general public.

    Here's the schedule:
    Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
    Saturday: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
    Sunday: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The Fork Union availability is in addition to a clinic sponsored by the Thomas Jefferson Health District. That will be held Tuesday from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Fluvanna County Community Center.
