  3. After upgrading the forum software late last year, a compatibility issue with earlier versions of Internet Explorer has been discovered. The developer is working on a fix, but a simpler solution for you may be to upgrade your browser to the latest version of Internet Explorer (free). You can do that by visiting this link: http://download.cnet.com/Internet-Explorer/3000-2356_4-10013275.html?tag=mncol Another option is to use the Firefox browser, which I strongly recommend. It is quicker and encounters less problems than IE. You can download that at www.firefox.com. The final option that may work is to switch the style. You can do this by scrolling to the bottom of the forum page and selecting the default style.

The deer issue at Lake Monticello has become even testier.
Members of the community spoke at the Lake Monticello Owners’ Association meeting on January 28 – many opposed to managing the deer by killing them.

Treasurer Mike Harrison proposed forming two committees for gathering information on solutions to the deer problem. One committee would gather information about culling the herd; the other would gather information on methods to reduce the deer population through contraception.

"Why two ad hoc committees? Because you can't be in the same room together and get along," said Harrison.

Harrison was extremely good-natured on the subject considering someone left a bucket of deer feces in his yard that morning and he has been receiving pictures of dead deer in his mail cubby.

LMOA has established a dedicated Emergency 300 Information telephone extension that residents may call for information in case an emergency has been declared in the community. To access the emergency information, simply dial the LMOA Administration Office number at 589-8263 and, at the prompt, dial extension 300. A recorded message will give information on the current situation.

If there is no community emergency in progress, the message will reflect that status. If there is a community emergency in progress, information and instructions or referral to other resources may be included. The recorded message will be updated when possible as conditions change. Please note that there is no means for callers to talk to anyone or to leave a message on Emergency 300 extension.

If you have or observe an emergency and need assistance from fire, rescue or law enforcement personnel, always dial 911. Emergency 300 information extension is not a source for emergency help.
